Role of Governmental and Non-Governmental Policies for Promoting Female Education in Jammu and Kashmir

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discuss the role of governmental and non- governmental policies for promoting female education in Jammu and Kashmir. These policies includes Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), National Programme for Education of Girls at Elementary Level (NPEGEL) and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), Jammu and Kashmir Children's Welfare Society, Nusrat-ul-Islam Society, The Iqbal Memorial Trust, Society for Human Welfare and Education, Jammaati-Islami, Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Trust, The Vishwa Bharati Women’s Welfare Institution have been discussed.
