About This Special Issue
There has been a growing interest in the integrability of discrete systems that can be described by ordinary or partial differential equations with exact solutions for over twenty years. Integrable systems are known as a special class of physical models that can be solved exactly because of a large number of symmetries. They provide a deeper understanding of comprehensive phenomena in a simplified frame. Such systems appear in a wide variety of areas and they have many applications: mathematical physics, computer science, mathematical biology, economics, combinatorics, statistical physics, special functions, asymptotic analysis, discrete geometry, numerical analysis, quantum mechanics, quantum field theory, classical and quantum relativity, string and gauge theories.

The aim of this special issue is to welcome the contributions span to a large extent and to be useful both for specialists as well as newcomers to the field.
