About This Special Issue
Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) is a scientific discipline covering many fields of science and engineering. Besides various scientific researches, FSI problems are frequently encountered in many engineering applications, including flow over tall buildings, towers, bridges, marine structures, cables, risers, tube bundles of heat exchanger and others. Numerical simulation has become an important approach to the solution of FSI problems. Due to the great complexity of the involved physics and computational works, an additional enormous amount of research effort is however required to achieve a comprehensive understanding of FSI.

This special issue invites contributions of original research on FSI. Articles reviewing the most recent progresses and research works and indicating future research directions in the field of FSI are also welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

1. Computational methods (for spring-supported rigid body, flexible structures, large deformation, etc.)
2. Flow induced vibrations (vortex induced vibration, flutter, buffeting, etc.)
3. Engineering applications of FSI
4. Suppression of FSI
5. Structure response to various flow discontinuities (e.g. shock)
6. High-performance computation
7. Benchmark problems for verification/validation
