About This Special Issue
In the conditions of established certainty regarding the primary sources origin, centers of the deep hydrocarbon generation and the ways of their vertical migration from the Earth's mantle to the area of industrial hydrocarbon accumulation in the earth's crust, a scheme of transition and approval of the geological views from the biogenic to abiogenic (crust-mantle) model of hydrocarbon systems formation is proposed. The model and criteria for prospecting, exploration and development of oil and gas fields are theoretically grounded in basement crystalline rocks within sedimentary basins, on shields, in the folded zones of the lithified crust. The main stages of oil and gas exploration are determined on the basis of the abiogenic model of the hydrocarbon systems genesis.
Aims and Scope:
  1. Mantle sources
  2. Centers of hydrocarbon systems
  3. Oil and gas content of subsoil
  4. Hydrocarbon systems geological and geophysical characteristics
  5. Prediction and exploration criteria for hydrocarbon systems
  6. Hydrocarbon resources
