About This Special Issue
This Special Issue is concerned with the design, construction and applications of the High Magnetic Field Systems in research and technology. The strong magnetic fields, generated for example in pulsed or superconducting electromagnets, are operational in research centers from Japan, USA and other countries, or are proposed to be installed at the three “Extreme Light Infrastructure” (ELI) centers in Europe. Generators of strong magnetic fields are used for example for characterization of charged particle beams produced by Laser driven acceleration with solid or gas targets, for the inertial plasma confinement for fusion reactions or to understand the structure and properties of the new materials.

Aims and Scope:

1. Design and construction of Spectrometers with continuous or pulsed high magnetic fields
2. Plasma confinement in high magnetic fields
3. Design of strong magnetic field electromagnets for fundamental and applied research;
4. Applications of continuous or pulsed high magnetic fields in transportation, defense and space travel.
