About This Special Issue
Variations in the human genome (SNP/polymorphisms) determine individual fate in population. Genetic polymorphisms create protein-enzyme variants. Enzymatic variations lead to individual differences in response to many environmental hazards, occupational exposure as well as drugs. Mostly activity and response time of the metabolic pathway of the related enzyme changes and render some individual susceptible and others resistance or unaffected phenotypically or clinically. Determination of population polymorphism profiles in industrial intensive region and near waste treatment plants are important for early intervention and preventive actions.
