About This Special Issue
In this globalized phase, the vexed question facing our country, Vietnam, is how to improve foreign languages, especially English, for all Vietnamese people. This is the reason for some of my reseaches in second language acquisition, one of which has been published on the International Journal of Language and Linguistics, titled Some Vietnamese viewpoints upon Second language acquisition theories in Language contact environment.

Therefore, based on the article “Some Vietnamese Viewpoints upon Second language acquistion theories in Language contact environment”, this special issue is to improve the dissemination of advanced research in how lecturers and students in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Viet Nam National University, specializing in English and English for Special Purposes (ESP), acquire their English language, from which the solutions to improving bilingual ability for Vietnamese people will be discovered.

Aims and Scope:

1. The viewpoints of the lecturers in English in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Vietnam, upon second language acquisition and using.
2. The viewpoints of the lecturers in ESP in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Vietnam, upon second language acquisition and using.
3. The viewpoints of the students in English in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Vietnam, upon second language acquisition and using.
4. The viewpoints of the students in ESP in the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam, upon second language acquisition and using.
5. Solutions to improving the bilingual ability for Vietnamese people.
