About This Special Issue
The issue of pain in preterm infants is a critical yet often overlooked challenge in neonatal healthcare. Premature babies frequently undergo numerous invasive procedures, medical interventions, and tests, leading to significant pain that can have long-term consequences on their physical, psychological, and neurological development. The aim is to shed light on the significance of pain in preterm infants, explore its short-term and long-term effects, and propose effective pain management strategies to ensure their improved well-being and quality of life.
The issue aims to emphasize the critical importance of recognizing and addressing pain in preterm infants. understanding the short and long-term consequences of untreated pain, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and families can collaborate to implement evidence-based strategies that prioritize pain management for preterm infants. protect and improve the well-being of these vulnerable infants and set the foundation for healthy growth and development.
The primary goal of this special issue is to address pain management in preterm infants. We invite contributions that explore pain in preterm infants, with particular interest in pain management in preterm infants.
Types of articles welcomed: Original research articles, review articles, case studies, systematic review, and meta-analysis.
