Perceptual Learning Styles and Teacher Professional Development Needs in Ethiopian Secondary Schools: Implications for Educational Policy and Planning

Abstract: This study examined the predictive relationship between perceptual learning styles and teacher professional development needs among 423 Grade 11 students and 12 English language teachers in Gondar, Ethiopia, with a focus on its implications for educational policy and planning. Using a quantitative correlational design, data were collected through established perceptual learning style preference and professional development needs assessment instruments. Multiple regression analysis revealed that learning styles collectively accounted for 96.3% of the variance in teacher professional development needs. Kinesthetic learning emerged as the strongest predictor of professional development needs, followed by read/write, visual, and auditory learning modalities. These findings indicate that teachers' capacity to address kinesthetic learning preferences represents the most significant predictor of professional development requirements in the Ethiopian context. The results have substantial implications for educational policy and planning, suggesting that educational leaders and policymakers should prioritize professional development programs that equip teachers with differentiated instruction strategies, particularly those emphasizing kinesthetic approaches. This study contributes to educational planning by providing empirical evidence to support evidence-based policy making and strategic professional development planning in Ethiopian secondary education.

Abstract: The increasing adoption of digital technologies has transformed strategic decision-making processes in modern organizations. Data-driven decision practices enable managers to utilize organizational data, analytics tools, and evidence-based insights to improve decision quality, reduce uncertainty, and enhance organizational effectiveness. The study titled “Strategic Decision-Making in the Digital Era: Impact of Data-Driven Decision Practices on Managerial Effectiveness among Indian Managers” examines the influence of data-driven decision practices on managerial effectiveness in the Indian organizational context. The study focuses on how data availability, analytics usage, data interpretation capability, technology adoption, and evidence-based decision approaches contribute to effective managerial decision-making. The study follows a quantitative research design using a structured questionnaire for data collection. The population of the study includes middle and senior-level managers working in Indian organizations. A sample of 400 managers from major metropolitan cities including Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi was selected using purposive convenience sampling. Primary data was collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire, while secondary data was gathered from research articles, books, and industry reports. SPSS software was used for data analysis. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the respondent profile and questionnaire responses, while simple linear regression analysis was employed to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings reveal that data-driven decision practices significantly influence managerial effectiveness by improving decision quality, strategic alignment, and problem-solving capabilities. The study also confirms that data interpretation capability positively affects strategic decision-making effectiveness among managers. The results highlight that successful digital transformation requires not only technological adoption but also managerial analytical skills and organizational support. The study suggests that organizations should invest in analytics capabilities, digital training programs, and evidence-based decision frameworks to strengthen managerial performance in the digital era.

Abstract: The main purpose of this systematic review is to examine the empirical findings with regard to global supply chain management and resilience. The review focuses on identifying insights and empirical findings, theoretical foundations used, the methodologies employed and the existing gaps and possible future recommendations in the topic areas. The researcher used screening criteria as per the PRISMA guide lines to select articles from reputable databases. A total of 39 articles were meet the selection criteria used to identifies the relevant and quality studies to be reviewed. Descriptive and thematic analysis was used to in this review to review the articles qualitatively. The review result shows dynamic capability and resource based view was the most frequently utilized theory in the reviewed articles; methodologically majority of the studies employed quantitative and qualitative approaches separately; PLS-SEM, SEM and regression analysis were the dominant data analysis methods applied in the study and finally lack of theoretical integration studies, lack of longitudinal studies, lack of standardized scales, limited mixed studies and geographically concentrations, and exploring newly emerging topics are some of the major gaps identified in the reviewed paper. The researcher recommended that organizations should develop balanced resilience capability portfolios that include redundancy, flexibility, visibility, and collaboration rather than relying on any single approach and also supply chain relationships should be managed as strategic assets that provide resilience benefits beyond operational performance.
