Experiences That Matter: Membership Involvement of Young Adult Members in Voluntary Sports Clubs in the Netherlands

Abstract: Many young people in the Netherlands participate in voluntary sports clubs (VSCs) but stop once they become adults. VSCs lack the ability to transition their youth members to adult members, which threatens the size of the clubs in terms of membership, the income, and the availability of volunteers. This research aims to identify experiences of young adult members that contribute to membership involvement (MI) and intentions to support the club and continue membership (membership commitment). A mixed-method approach consisting of a qualitative and a quantitative study was used. The results showed that young adult members elaborate on a wide range of experiences that predicts MI at four stages of membership. These experiences can be classified into the pleasure when participating in sports (enjoyment), the service and support within the club (care), and the social connectedness among the members (closeness). Moreover, the results revealed that MI performs as a mediator for membership commitment. The conclusion indicates that experiences of young adult members are integrated system, one cannot do without the other. This integrative system of experiences determines membership involvement in all stages of membership, from less than one year to long-term memberships. For clubs it is important to address these experiences because MI is important for the development of membership commitment - loyal and supportive young adult members.

Abstract: Background: The Burkinabè School faces many cases of violence. Acts of violence between students or between students and supervisors are legion. In a few years, School has become more and more a privileged space for the violence of various kinds, thus compromising its mission of socialization and transmission of knowledge and social norms. The violence is maintained by "lace wars", the consequences of which are the reduction of "civilities" in the school environment. The students develop new forms of rivalry and alliances, and there is a rise in rivalries between gangs, which can turn into more or fewer fights with the use of weapons. This configuration of relationships between students feeds punitive expeditions between groups of students and/or schools. The spirit of self-justice took precedence over the use of the crisis management system existing in schools. The objective of this research is to understand the logic of incivility in schools, their manifestation, and actors' representations. To achieve the research objectives, we opted for an anthropological approach. The anthropological approach led us to immerse ourselves in school life in the city of Ouagadougou. This "proximity" with people experiencing the issue of violence made it possible to observe students' living together in several high schools in Ouagadougou. Interviews with student, victims and actors of violence, leaders of student groups, school officials, supplemented the observation. It emerges from this research that the school environment in the city of Ouagadougou is made up of ritualized transgressions, which take place during demonstrations and student strikes but also during the publication of school results. Violence manifests itself through racketeering. To protect themselves, the victims try to retaliate by resorting to clans. The clans become protective bodies and animators of violence in the school environment.

Abstract: Silkworm textile is an important source of economic resources in the history of Haining region. After thousands of years of changes and development, it is closely related to people 's life, and has gradually become an important component of people' s spiritual culture. With the change and inheritance of The Times, a unique set of folk cultural activities have been formed. To research the living culture of silkworm textile industry in Haining Area from the Perspective of Folklore and sort out the folklore inheritance memories, this thesis makes collection of the content and form for folklore living memories here via questionnaire survey, mass visit and enterprise investigation. Nexus Between Internet Use and Academic Performance: Evidence from University Students of Bangladesh

Abstract: This paper mainly explores the nexus between Internet use and academic performance among university students in Bangladesh. In addition, this study also investigates what is the overall scenario of students’ CGPA and how do they use Internet. To achieve these objectives, this paper uses primary data that are collected from 1553 students of different universities of Bangladesh through online survey with Google form. Besides, several statistical methods are also used in this paper to test the hypothesis of the study. A one-way ANOVA test is used to examine the mean difference among the different categories of the socio-economic and demographic variables of the students in terms of their academic performance. On the other hand, a linear regression model is used to investigate the extent to what Internet use impacts on students’ academic performance. Using the primary data and statistical methods, this paper finds some interesting findings. Majority of the students of Bangladesh use Internet by 8.01 and above hours a day and they have CGPA by 3.01 to 3.50. This article also finds that academic performance of students may be increased by 0.1309 if a student uses Internet by one hour more per day. Therefore, this study suggests policymakers to utilize Internet use as one of most influential factors affecting students’ academic performance in Bangladesh. This study also suggests students to use Internet in academic purposes mostly to enhance their academic performance.

Abstract: The Article presented overview research about women serving a sentence of imprisonment as also performed at work by women – prisoner outside prison. Research regarding women is definitely less than research considering a men serving sentence of imprisonment. Therefore, the article indicates the causes of female crime women and methods of interaction, such as work, education, programs, sports, religion, interactions between the convict and the convict, convict and the officer, and the development of interests affecting personal development, whitch contribute to a better social rehabilitation of women staying in penal institution. Relative of methods of impact using in prison pointing attention on functioning of women in professional environment as well as the need for women serving a sentence of imprisonment in other areas prison and social life. Described of deprivation needs and the reasons for the intensification of negative traits were listed psychophysical degradation and psychophysical of aliments point among women serving a sentence of imprisonment obtained thanks to conducted scientific research by various scientists. In article were showed relative actually the statistic date concerning to temporary arrested, sentenced, punished women also, juvenile, adults, punished for the first time and recidivists penitentiary. Presented date statistic of women relative length of the imprisonment sentence and professional activity. Presented own research result are only part of a larger undertaking regarding prisoners women working outside prison. Described also actually legal act considering prisoner women and women in pregnant whom serving a sentence of imprisonment.
