Abstract: MSEs are fruitful and beneficial to economic development and poverty minimization. The definition of microenterprise, also called a microbusiness, refers to a small business that hires few people. The main objective of this study was to assess the factors disturbing the development of MSEs in kolfe keranio sub city Addis Ababa Ethiopia. Using a survey of 314 MSEs managers/owners were involved. Stratified random sampling was used. primary and secondary data was used as the source of data, which is cross-sectional data that has been obtained by preparing questionnaire. Descriptive statistics method was applied to analyze in this study. Most of the variables were significant factor on this study. As the findings of mangers profile indicates, males’ participation in MSEs is 61.8 percent compared with females. The age of participants mostly falls in between 36-40 years signifying 33.4 percent. As indicated the result that there was lack market information in their enterprises, insufficient access of market, Deficiency of knowledge related to marketing strategies lack of multi- skill training to perform multiple tasks and lack of providing convincing business plan to get loan. Recommendations for corrective measures to develop the progress, MSEs feasible and money-spinning, adding the capacity and skill of the operators through continuous trainings, experience sharing from successful enterprises. The concerned body should help and support finically.

Abstract: The poverty situation in northern Ghana is a major challenge to sustainable development. As a result of socio-cultural factors, women are vulnerable and their poverty situation is even more overwhelming. Development agencies, Governmental and Non- Governmental Organizations have adopted and implemented different strategies aimed at reducing poverty in these areas. Micro-credit delivery to the poor especially women is one of these strategies that seems to be making impact towards improving the livelihoods of the rural poor women. In recognition of the fact that the shea industry has a great potential and could help alleviate poverty in the five northern regions of Ghana, and most especially among the rural women, the Community Life Improvement Programme (CLIP) was established in 1997 to help boost the shea industry through the initiation of micro-credit scheme to help the northern women patronize, intensify and expand the sheabutter processing micro-business. This study was therefore conducted in 2015 to evaluate the impact of the CLIP project on the livelihood outcomes of women in the micro-scale sheabutter processing in Karaga district of Northern region. By means of purposive and snow ball sampling techniques, 110 respondents (consisting of 80 beneficiary and 30 non-beneficiary women) were interviewed for the study. An interview guide and focus group discussions were used to obtain information from the sheabutter processing women. Relevant literature documents of the CLIP project were also consulted. From the survey, the activities undertaken by the CLIP project to improve the livelihood of the beneficiary sheabutter processors were identified and the impact of the project on the beneficiary women assessed. The results of the study revealed that the livelihood outcomes of the beneficiary women have been improved. The study further revealed that the livelihood outcomes of the beneficiary women were far better off as compared to that of the non-beneficiary women of the CLIP project. The study recommended that, the CLIP project should expand its base to cover many more sheabutter processing women in the target communities, and intensify its training and monitoring activities.

Abstract: Background: Researchers studied about inventory management practice and other related concepts, but it’s rare to find researchers work on the factors affecting inventory management practice in the case of universities, especially in Ethiopia. The researcher is interested in fulfilling the gap and aimed to show the advantage of having professional staff advanced inventory documentation/record, effective procurement practice, and well-organized storage facility. In case of Wollega University main campus. The main objective of this study was examining the factors affecting inventory management practice at Wollega University. Objective: researcher intended to examine the most crucial factors according to literatures that affect inventory management those are staff proficiency, facility management, procurement practice and documentation. Methods: to meet the objectives a sample of 324 employees were selected from each strata randomly out of 1731 total population. Explanatory research design was used, the study was both qualitative and quantitative (mixed approach) data was collected by mainly questionnaires to analyze data SPSS of computer software was used and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The study finding shows the university is not given sufficient emphasis for staff proficiency the study was measuring the relationship between staff proficiency and inventory management there is strong positive relationship showing a unit improvement in staff proficiency will make inventory management practice better. Conclusion: the procurement practice is inefficient to handle the inventory management function. There is also moderate positive relationship between the effects of procurement practice and inventory management practice. Result shows procurement practice has the next most significant effect. Facility management also has a significant positive influence on inventory management practice.
